IQAC organized extension lecture on ‘Performance Indicators for Professional Development’ on April 24, 2018 in the Convention Hall. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. S.K. Yadav, former Head, Department of Teacher Education, N.C.E.R.T & Academic Consultant, N.C.T.E. The audience consisted of the teachers of all departments. Prof. Yadav expressed his views on various teaching methodologies and how a teacher plays a vital role in the development of nation. He contended that the only panacea for the evil rampant in the society is education. The lecture tended to be an interactive one in which the teachers present expressed their doubts and dilemmas, which the host professor alleviated cogently. He contended that in spite of tremendous development in audio-visual teaching aids, educational search tools, surplus reading material on the internet, the huge impact of social media etc, the indispensible role of the teacher in guiding and building a student can never be negated. He also suggested certain performance indicators for the teachers by which they can regularly assess their teaching efficiency and accountability. Towards the end, Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the resource person for such an awakening and inspiring talk.
