How To Live More Intentionally in 2022

It may be hard to believe, but 2021 is coming to an end, and as we reflect on a year that has been filled with so much uncertainty, it is tempting to dwell on the negatives. We have learned truths about ourselves and others in the past two years that we would not otherwise have been able to learn in ordinary times. Don’t waste this opportunity to learn about what’s important to you and what isn’t.

I have learned that while planning is a crucial part of living an intentional life, it can also set the stage for disappointment—but only if I let it. When I let my plans become expectations that everything will work out exactly as I hope, then disappointment is likely to win.

So, I challenged myself for 2021 to be more intentional. Although I was successful in some endeavors (focusing on my family), my year was dominated by some unexpected events that captured my attention and energy.

According to research, most of us live our lives on autopilot, not focusing on the outside world or the task at hand. But by living intentionally, I’ve been able to shake-up my routine and get my mind working.

What does being intentional mean?

A person who is intentional knows what they want and takes steps to achieve it. You have specific goals that you hope to accomplish in the future for a better life.

The first step is to know exactly what you want. Identify your priorities. Decide on a passion that will inspire you to wake up early and start your day off right.

After you’ve chosen a passion, identify the actions you’ll have to take consistently. What matters to you should guide how you spend your time, your energy, and your money. Any aspect of your life that isn’t aligned with that needs to change. While it’s not going to be easy or perfect, it’s worth the effort.

Don’t let the past or anything that keeps you from achieving your desires hold you back. Start creating a happy life by taking charge of your daily decisions. It is impossible to be truly intentional if you don’t think about your choices in life.

Take the actions you need to take to get from where you are to where you want to be. You can live the life you want if you think and act deliberately.

How can you start being more intentional?

The simple answer is one step at a time. After a few steps, you’ll find yourself farther along in life than you ever imagined.

Don’t let life just happen to you. Give yourself the chance to be the Maestro of your own Mindset. Now is the perfect time to come up with your own ideas of living with intention.

My goal is to maintain a positive mindset at all times in order to overcome any obstacles that may arise. As a result of my life’s experiences, I have been able to develop and practice a mindset that enables me to embrace change and look forward to the challenges that lie ahead.
