Changing Your Mindset Can Change Your Life

The average person has over 6,000 thoughts a day. Although it is a large number, how much attention do we pay to these thoughts? Are they lifting you up or dragging you down? Research shows that your thoughts and beliefs play a vital role in the way you live your life, and whether or not you achieve the things you want to.

I look forward to the new challenges that come my way in life because I believe in my Maestro Mindset strategy – the belief that every individual has the power to make their life what they want it to be.

What Is a Mindset?

In essence, your mindset is how you see the world and yourself. Your mindset influences everything, from inconsequential thoughts to a fundamental belief system. What you think has a direct impact on your behaviour, making your mindset one of the most important elements when it comes to finding success, both personally and professionally.

    • Fixed mindset. People with a fixed mindset believe that we are born with certain skills or talents which can’t be changed.
    • Growth mindset. The growth mindset believes that skills are formed through practice and hard work and that new ability are always possible.

Self-limiting mindsets lead to thoughts that you aren’t good enough, or aren’t capable of creating change. While I strongly encourage a growth mindset in everyone, it’s important to acknowledge that it alone doesn’t guarantee success. Having a growth mindset is about creating your own space for growth, where you can find contentment and success.

The way you think has a huge impact on your life, but that isn’t to say that people are always one or the other. We function on a spectrum, and there may be days that we can’t always have the best mindset. The important thing is to keep trying.

Challenging Yourself

Life is all about facing challenges. Your mindset is all about responding to them.

We’ve seen a lot of change recently, and it’s more important than ever to learn how to function outside your comfort zone. An optimistic mindset supports healthier self-esteem, a positive perspective, and prepares you to face adversity and come out stronger. If your mindset isn’t what you want it to be right now, why not challenge yourself to start changing it?

My Personal Challenge 

I always strive to maintain the best mindset possible so that I can face any roadblocks that may come my way with confidence. One way I do this is by challenging myself. For example, I’ve set myself a challenge to run the distance of a marathon by mid-October to test my limits and see what I’m capable of achieving. In the build up to this goal, I follow a training schedule to get me into a marathon mindset which pushes me to achieve the challenge I’ve set for myself.

The combination of my life’s experiences, with all of its ups and downs, has allowed me to create and practice a mindset that enables me to embrace change and look forward to the challenges to come.
